Job search notes
How do Indian people speaking their own version of English decide to become recruiters? I just spoke to one - it was painful just trying to understand what he was saying.

I almost blew an interview yesterday. Here I am dressed like a prince, with a great resume, establishing rapport with the potential future boss, and suddenly she asks: "Why do you want to work for us?" I am brash, but not brash enough to say "Since I was born I always dreamed of working for No.3 insurance company in Massachusetts. Without me it would be much harder for you to become No.2" I, stumbled, I mumbled, I huffed and I puffed... Luckily, she didn't seem to mind.

неужели не пришел в голову стандартный ответ? I think my qualifications perfectly match the job specifications. I am exited that I can fully apply my skills and realize my full potential while bringing the most value to your organization... blah-blah-blah....

Для меня если побрил щёки - это уже итог пятилетки :)

Фишка в чём - они меня нашли, не я их. Я понятия не имел, кто им нужен, job specifications в глаза не видел, мало того, те объявления о работе, что у них были на сайте, говорили о Джаве, которой я не занимался вообще. В общем, ехал на полный обум, но вроде как понравился.

Зная, кто такая yukla, понятно, что "у нас" в её устах - это где-то в Бостоне. Так что географически всё понятно. А если gde - в смысле "в какой фирме", то действительно так - абсолютно так, все равно, лишь бы платили.

Из моего журнала очевидно, что айтишник, и почти очевидно, что программист. Так что вопрос надо было понимать как "подходит ли твоя специализация тому списку открытых позиций, который есть у нас"

Как это все равно? На Яху - т.е. на адрес на Яху, указанный в юзеринфо, очевидно же.

Итог: нефиг тут симоронить, когда серьёзные люди о делах разговаривают и понимают друг друга с полуслова.

Кстати, как насчёт работы научным программистом при университете (то ли Гарвард, то ли Тафтс). Статистика, С, С++, Excel?
